Minutes
The Historic Preservation Commission meets at 5:30 pm on the second Monday of the month at City Hall as needed. The Commission shall meet at least three times a year.
The Historic Preservation Commission consists of seven (7) city residents each serving a three (3) year term. Some powers and duties of the Commission are:
A. Ability to conduct inventory studies to identify and designate potential historic districts and sites;
B. May recommend designation of a district or site to the National Register of Historic Places;
C. May recommend designation of historic sites and districts to the City Council;
D. Can prepare a Comprehensive Preservation Plan for the City;
E. Provide educational and interpretive programs on historic properties in Fort Madison.
