DUMPSTER PERMIT

All dumpster permits should be applied for 3 to 5 days in advance of delivery or placement.

When filling out the dumpster permit you will be required to complete the following information.

a. Street/Location where dumpster will be placed.
b. Date of dumpster placement.
c. How many days you expect to have dumpster at above address.
d. Have neighbors been contacted.
e. Name of person responsible. Address. Phone.

Dumpster Requirements

1. No dumpster shall be placed on city sidewalks.

2. No dumpster shall be placed on city curbs.

3. All dumpsters shall be placed on level ground.

4. No dumpster shall be placed and allowed to remain standing upon any public property or thoroughfare, without the owner/renter of said dumpster first obtaining a permit from the Public Works Department which indicates the dates the permit is valid through.

5. All dumpsters shall display on at least 3 sides, barricades with flashing yellow lights and or be marked with IDOT red and white reflective tape. Barricades and or reflective tape shall allow all dumpsters to be plainly visible at least 300 feet in all directions and shall not be parked within twenty-five (25) feet of any street intersection.

6. Agree to call the Police Department as soon as dumpster is placed on the city property/thoroughfare so that they may notify emergency personnel of its placement. Police Department non-emergency phone number is 372-2525.

7. Applicants, who fail to adhere to this permit, shall be in violation of city codes and could face the possibility of penalties or citations.
