REQUEST TO BLOCK CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY

When filling out the Request to Block City Right-of-Way permit you will be required to complete the following information.

a. Name of event.
b. Date of street closing. How many days?
c. Name of street/location to be blocked. From (Street/Avenue) To (Street/Avenue).
d. Time (From/To)
e. Have neighbors been contacted?
f. Name of person responsible. Address. Phone.

Request to Block City Right-of-Way Requirements:

1. Request should be made at least two weeks in advance of the event.
2. All Street closings shall be made with City barricades only. Vehicles or equipment parked crosswise in the street will not be allowed.
3. Access for emergency vehicles shall be kept open
4. Excessive use of extension cords should be avoided.
5. The Public Works Department will deliver barricades prior to event. Petitioner of the event is responsible for setting up and taking down barricades.
6. The Police Department should be notified as soon as the barricades are set up so that they can notify emergency personnel of the street closing. Police Department phone number is 372-2525. The Police Department should also be notified when the barricades have been taken down.
