Support the Library

There are many ways you can support the Fort Madison Public Library and be a part of making it the best it can be. If you have questions about any of the following options, please call.

Memorials and Honorarium

Remember a loved one or honor someone special in your life by adding an item to the library collection in their name or providing a monetary donation that the library will use to purchase materials in their name.

Adopt-an-Author

Do you have a favorite author? Do you want to make sure you are the first one to read their latest book? Do you want to make sure that the library keeps carrying that author? When you adopt an author, the library will buy all of their new books as they come out. All you do is pay the library's discounted price to donate the book to the library and then you are guaranteed to be given the first option to check it out.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Fort Madison Public Library raise funds to support the library's program, resource, and equipment needs. They hold three large book sales throughout the year and have newer used books for sale on a cart in the library. The Friends of the Library is always open to new members, ask at the library about how you can help.

Volunteer Opportunities

Help us out in person, we have a variety of ways volunteers can help the library. Our biggest project right now is creating a master index for the family histories in the genealogy section. However, we also need volunteers to help return books to the shelf, keep the shelves in order and assist with library programs. Contact Sarah Clendineng to find out how you can volunteer at the library.
