[ARCHIVED] Adopt-A-Garden Program Needs Volunteers!

Bench 1.JPG

The Fort Madison Parks and Recreation Department’s Adopt-A-Garden program was established in order to provide the proper care and maintenance for the numerous flowerbeds located within the Fort Madison Parks system. Since its’ inception in 2000, over thirty-four flowerbeds have been adopted. Within the past fifteen years the Adopt-A-Garden program has undergone quite a few changes, most noticeably are the new faces that have replaced individuals that have either moved away or due to other commitments, have dropped out of the program.

The Parks Department currently has 11 flowerbeds that are available for adoption. Any group, organization or individual that is willing to get their hands dirty and help maintain a flowerbed in the Fort Madison Parks system are encouraged to contact the Parks Department to find out how they can adopt one of the available flowerbeds.

To find out more about the Adopt-A-Garden program, at the top of the City's website main page you will see “City Departments” click on City Departments. Next you will see a list of departments. Click on “Parks and Recreation” then to the right you will see “Adopt-A-Garden”. Click on Adopt-A-Garden.

So you don’t have to click on all the pictures, the gardens that are currently available are: #2, #13, #14, #15, #16, #17, #18, #19, #20, #22 and #30.

Please contact City Hall at 372-7700 x 202 or Email City Hall if you are interested in adopting a flowerbed. We will be more than happy to sign you up.
