Please be advised that the City of Fort Madison in their efforts to promote cleanliness and pride in the community has designated an on-site dumpster location for the removal of unwanted or nuisance related items from properties within the community.
This program is intended for the residential customers within the corporate City limits of Fort Madison. It is an excellent opportunity for property owners to address non-compliance conditions.
All Fort Madison residents shall bring their refuse to the central location as scheduled below. Residents must provide a valid form of identification and city water bill in order to place refuse items in dumpsters at the city lot at 15th Street & Avenue I. City employees will assist in verification and direction of traffic. Crews will be on hand to assist residents for unloading purposes in order to decrease drop off time. There will be no curb side pick up. Dumpsters will be provided during the hours listed on the following dates: Thursday, October 4 (7:30 am to 4:30 pm), Friday, October 5 (7:30 am to 4:30 pm) and Saturday, October 6 (8:00 am to 3:00 pm)
In conjunction with the City Wide Cleanup the City of Fort Madison will allow four (4) extra garbage bags of regular garbage (weight restrictions apply) per household the weeks of October 8, 2012 through November 2, 2012. Residents should place their garbage at the regular pickup location by 6:00 am on the morning of their regular pickup day.
